spectacular views, on Big Tancook Island, Nova Scotia
This 200-year-old shingled cottage, with
three bedrooms and two bathrooms, is one of the oldest on Big Tancook Island,
home to fishers and artists and reached by daily ferry from Chester, Nova
Scotia. On high ground of nearly an acre, with views of the Southeast Cove and
the Aspotogan Peninsula, the house is newly available for rent after a complete
and loving renovation. Sleeps 6-8 people.
On the first floor, the open concept space
includes living and dining areas with beautiful views, a full kitchen with
farmhouse sink, under-counter washing machine and original hearth and wood
stove. The main floor also includes a contemporary three-piece bathroom with
spacious shower, plus master bedroom and ensuite with vintage tub. Upstairs
contains a large bedroom with two double beds and a smaller double bedroom with
cedar closet, around a central common room with seating for movie watching or
card playing. Wifi is available.
Outside, the Southeast Cove Beach and other
magical hikes are just around the corner. There is use of fire pit and
barbecue, and outdoor seating. All towels and bedding supplied.
Rental with use of car is $1100. Minimum
stay is one week; reduced rates available for longer rentals.
